Yuval Cohen is a project financial and economic advisor with over 29 years of experience in built infrastructure, having worked throughout North, Central, and South America, Central Europe, Australia and the Middle East. He leads Geosyntec's Capital, Assets & Transactions Advisory practice. His proven record of accomplishments as a renowned transaction advisor (financial, economic, technical, business case assessments) has supported over US$18 billion in closed capital raised for roads, airports, rail, water/wastewater treatment and ports/container terminal acquisitions in North and South America and Europe, with an enterprise value of several times that amount.
He has led many investor evaluations, bond rating agency presentations, lender and equity investor road show presentations during his due diligence engagements for landmark transactions such as the US$2.1 billion Midtown/Downtown Tunnel in Virginia (performing traffic & revenue, as well as technical reviews on behalf of Macquarie and Skanska); for the US$0.9 billion 95 Express Lanes (on behalf of Transurban and Kiewit) in Virginia (both achieved financial close in 2012); for the US$1.5 billion Goethals Bridge Replacement Project in New Jersey for Macquarie and Kiewit (financial close in 2014); and for the Denver Eagle P3 Fastracks Commuter Rail Project in 2010 (the only rail P3 project in the U.S.). He has most recently served as financial and technical due diligence advisor to the U.S. Department of Transportation, TIFIA Joint program Office (FHWA) on two P3 projects being considered for a TIFIA loan.
Yuval has also played a key role in many of the largest infrastructure transactions that achieved financial close in the Americas. He advised Ontario Teachers' Pension Fund in its landmark transaction acquisition of the largest container terminals in North America and several other direct investments and portfolio evaluations. He has advised other large fund managers such as Australia's AMP Capital, and equity investors such as Advent International in its successful acquisition of Brazil's third largest container terminal. He has conducted numerous traffic and revenue reviews; project procurement and governance engagements for multilaterals; sponsor and lender technical and commercial due diligence engagements; and financial assessments informing buyers and sellers. Yuval has a particular acuity in being able to digest complex technical, commercial, legal documentation and other project profile aspects critical to risk and return assessments on behalf of concerned parties.
